We are off to a good start so far this year.   We have some great classes, and I have some ideas on how to make things even better.  One thing I want to improve on is communication.  Because we do a lot of group and hands on work in our class, there is not a lot of papers to send home.  However, I want parents to feel a part of what we are doing, so I have a couple ideas of how to make that happen. First is this blog.  I will be updating this blog at least once a week to give information about events, projects, or any other information that needs passed on.  We will recognize accomplishment, give opportunities for input, and help you keep in touch with what we are doing in class.  In addition to our blog, I have created an Edmodo account for our class.  Edmodo works kind of like a Facebook for the classroom.  The only people who have access are those who are invited.  Students will be posting for classes, receiving assignments, and communicating with each other, as well as, others in our community. Classroom Needs:
There are needs that we will have throughout the year.  I will post those needs on our blog and send out emails to those who have given me email addresses.  I like to give small, individually wrapped candy for accomplishments and special efforts.  If you would like to donate candy (Starbursts, Lifesavers, bite-sized candy bars, etc.), we would greatly appreciate it.  I also like to give canned sodas and water bottles for larger accomplishments and rewards.  Any donations you give will be used for your child's class.  Thank you so much for your consideration!

Welcome to Our class blog.  It will be a work in progress throughout the year, especially in the beginning.  I hope to make it a great way to communicate class activities, help parents keep up with class work, and report student achievement.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have, as I will make every effort to keep our blog updated.  I am looking forward to a fantastic year!
